About Lebanon Valley Insurance Company

Lebanon Valley Insurance Company was chartered on June 18, 1856, as "The Lebanon Mutual Insurance Company," authorized to write fire insurance for local businesses, dwellings and farms. The Company's first office was located in Jonestown, a small town north of Lebanon, Pennsylvania. The office was moved several times within the city of Lebanon and in 1964 it relocated to its current address at 137 West Penn Avenue, Cleona, Pennsylvania. Interestingly, considering its proximity to Hershey, the building currently occupied by Lebanon Valley was originally a candy factory.

At a special meeting held on November 12, 2010, the policyholders of Lebanon Mutual Insurance Company voted in favor of reorganization into a mutual holding company structure. Effective January 3, 2011, the conversion was completed and the name of the Company was changed to Lebanon Valley Insurance Company. Susquehanna Capital Corp., a stock holding company, is the intermediate parent of Lebanon Valley and Tuscarora Wayne Mutual Group, Inc., a mutual holding company, is the ultimate parent.

Beginning as a "county mutual" writing only fire insurance, Lebanon Valley has grown into a statewide carrier offering a full range of property and casualty insurance to commercial and personal customers. Insurance products are distributed through an independent agency system located throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Lebanon Valley is rated B++ (Good), Financial Size Category V, by A.M. Best Company, Inc., the leading provider of news and financial data for the industry worldwide.
